Our Story

Krissy and Kevin Holst’s journey together began when they were just twelve years old. Through life’s biggest triumphs and most difficult losses, they have stood by each other, driven by a shared purpose: to make the world a better place.

When Krissy was in junior high, her stepfather passed away from cancer. She remembers their kitchen overflowing with casseroles, yet the emotional void left behind was far deeper than any well-meaning dish could fill.

In the years that followed, Krissy and Kevin experienced both incredible adventures and further hardships, all of which shaped their desire to make a lasting, positive impact. From Washington, D.C. to Silicon Valley and countless global destinations in between, they’ve spent over a decade tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges: terrorism, natural disasters, homelessness, disaster relief, and human trafficking.

Yet, Rallee wasn’t born from their professional endeavors. It was born in their tiny apartment in D.C., during heartfelt phone calls with a close friend who had just given birth and was battling postpartum depression. They realized that meal deliveries alone weren’t enough; there had to be a more meaningful way to support one another during life’s highs and lows.

That’s when Kevin and Krissy knew they had to create a solution that was both scalable and deeply personal, allowing communities to offer genuine, impactful support when it's needed most.

For the past five years, they have dedicated themselves to researching and developing Rallee, with the mission to transform how communities show up for one another. Because, at the end of the day, we all need more than just a casserole. Fittingly, Rallee’s very first recipient was Kevin’s mom, who began chemotherapy for stage three cancer the same week Rallee launched.
